SUMMARY
Excerpt from Cartæ Et Alia Munimenta Quæ Ad Dominium De Glamorgan Pertinent, Vol. 1: 1102-1350 Besides these, there exists, in manuscript, a considerable mass of notes and comments upon the above texts, forming the ground for a History of the Norman Lordship of Glamorgan. The subject is not one in which the present inhabitants of the modern County show any great interest, nor is it very probable that these commenta will ever be turned to account; nevertheless it has seemed better first to print the records alone. Of the value of his own work, it is not for its author to express an opinion, but concerning the value of the records themselves, as the materials for local history, there can be no doubt.
